NGC7331 in Pegasus


The mass of this galaxy is estimated to be 140-billion suns and is located 50 million light years distant.  We assume that our own galaxy is very similar in appearance when viewed from a distance.  In the upper portion of the photograph, you can see other background galaxies.  These are much farther away from us.  All stars in the image are stars in our galaxy.
