Yes, we are finally getting up to speed with the technology here at Plettstone. Even though we live in the middle of the desert (as far as the internet is concerned), it was time to set up a webcam. Everyone is always asking us what the skies are like here. Now all they have to do is check the cam. For now, we are displaying a very small image on the right side of the home page. We'll be installing a weather station next week. We may make some changes to display the weather information and webcam together on the same page. |

Yes, it has been a while since the old new site was hacked. I couldn't work out the security problems with my ISP, so I've purchased web space with another provider. And since my old ISP locked all my files, I had to do a redesign. I like the new look much better. The web space isn't clogged up with 5 years of files that I don't know what to do with, and I'm finally familiar with the software to put together just what I want. I'll continue to publish info about our observatory here, set up observing events, share the latest news in astronomy, and articles about the Yosemite area. Yes, I'll be plaguing you with landscpe and macro photographs. I suppose that the bottom line is this: I love nature in all it's forms..... Welcome to the new Plettstone website! |
